AIPO Conducts Design Thinking Workshop for Asticom Technology

The Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) conducted a full-day Design Thinking Workshop for Asticom Technology, Inc. at the company's head office in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig last 24 June 2026. The session, titled "Designing for Impact," brought together 23 participants from across Asticom's various business units for a hands-on introduction to human-centered design.

AIPO’s Head of Ideation Support, Mr Steve Chaves, led the workshop, which was designed to equip participants with a structured yet creative approach to identifying and solving real workplace challenges. Grounded in empathy and iterative thinking, the session guided teams through the five stages of the Design Thinking process: empathizing with users, defining problems, ideating solutions, prototyping, and testing.

Participants formed five cross-functional groups, each assigned a unique challenge scenario from their day-to-day operations. Using tools such as stakeholder mapping, "How Might We" reframing, rapid ideation, and the Crazy 8s method, the groups developed original solutions and built tangible prototypes — all within a single working day.

The workshop culminated in group presentations, where each team shared their proposed solutions and received feedback from both the facilitators and their peers. Across all five groups, a strong convergence emerged around themes of process standardization, cross-functional collaboration, and human-centered improvement — demonstrating not just comprehension of the methodology, but a readiness to apply it.
