As you explore the backstreets, you’ll get a glimpse of the city's past, walking through the historic Shikumeng homes that reflect the charm of old Shanghai. Next, at the Former French Concession, you will savor a delicious array of thin noodles topped with pickled vegetables, braised pork, and sweet potatoes, all while sipping tea at a local teahouse. The tour wraps up at Dahuchun near People's Square, one of Shanghai’s oldest dumpling restaurants, where you’ll experience the city’s iconic pan-fried pork buns—a taste of tradition that has stood the test of time since 1932.

Explore the storied grounds of Shanghai-Jiaotong University and form friendships with the students at the same time. During our visit to SJTU, we will engaging in a campus tour, getting to know local SJTU students, and visiting their newly-opened Tang Junyuan Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. We’ll also take part in a 3D printing workshop alongside the students!

Stepping Stones (上海闵⾏区华漕铺路⽯⻘少年发展中⼼) is a non-profit organization registered in Shanghai and with a 3A status. With a mission to improve the education and general welfare of under-served children in China, Stepping Stones has hosted numerous programs focused on children’s education and well-being since 2006. They recruit, train and support volunteers to teach essential 21st-century skills to under served children and youth in China, focusing on digital literacy, foreign language, and social-emotional learning.

Co-founded in 2015 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Land Group, and the People’s Government of Minhang District, neoBay is committed to establishing a scientific innovation cluster in South Shanghai. NeoBay is devoted to forging a bridge connecting academia with industry and building an international ecosystem for resourcing, matchmaking and commercialization of new technologies around the world.

The 400 Box Community is an international initiative that creates sustainable, flexible urban spaces by transforming underused areas into efficient, eco-friendly communities. Using architectural design, smart technologies, and AI, they develop modular "box" spaces that can be easily customized for living, working, and entertainment. Their mission is to offer carbon-neutral, shared spaces while fostering human connections and promoting sustainability. The company aims to meet both the physical and emotional needs of urban residents, especially young people. Their offerings include pop-up stores, exhibition spaces, and digital nomad hotels, with modules designed for easy assembly and environmental reuse.

New Energy Nexus is a global organization that accelerates the growth of clean energy startups. Since 2016, it has been supporting entrepreneurs in China through incubators, accelerators, and partnerships. Their focus is on driving innovation in clean energy technologies like solar, wind, and electric vehicles. In China, New Energy Nexus runs the EXCEL Accelerator to help startups with technical guidance and market access. They also promote climate fintech solutions by partnering with local stakeholders to integrate financial technologies in the clean energy sector.
