Ateneo Blue Nest, the university’s official startup incubator under the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO), successfully concluded its Game-Based Learning Workshop in celebration of Philippine Startup Week (PHSW) 2025 last November 13, 2025. The event brought together over 50 founders, investors, innovators, and incubator partners for an afternoon of interactive learning through strategic board games designed to simulate real-world leadership and decision-making environments.Â

The workshop utilized the Pandemic Board Game to promote experiential learning and reveal participants’ approaches to strategy, negotiation, collaboration, and problem-solving. This method allowed attendees to reflect on their leadership styles in a dynamic, low-stakes setting while engaging with peers from both local and international startup ecosystems.Â

Participants represented six countries, creating a diverse environment that facilitated meaningful conversation and cross-border exchange. Founders and community members from Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, Brazil, the United States, and the Philippines joined the workshop, underscoring the growing global interest in Philippine innovation and entrepreneurship. Ateneo Blue Nest extends its appreciation to its international and regional partners for their participation and support: Reactor School (Singapore), JETRO – Japan External Trade Organization (Japan), TechShake (ASEAN Community), and AHG Lab (Philippine Venture Studio).Â

Ateneo Blue Nest likewise expresses gratitude to Gaming Library for providing the board games used throughout the workshop and for supporting the University’s game-based learning initiatives. This collaboration reflects Ateneo’s sustained commitment to fostering innovation, experiential education, and ecosystem-building within the Philippine startup landscape. Through initiatives such as this workshop, Ateneo Blue Nest continues to create platforms where students, alumni, founders, and international partners can connect, learn, and co-create solutions for a more dynamic and globally engaged entrepreneurial community.
