The Ateneo de Manila University, through the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO), participated in the IP C.I.R.C.L.E League 2025 competition organized by the IP Academy of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The IP C.I.R.C.L.E League is a multi-competition that allows participants from different universities to Create, Interact, Refine, Compete, Learn, and Experience intellectual property. The competition was held on November 12, 2025, at the IPOPHL Multipurpose Hall in Taguig City.
This year’s IP C.I.R.C.L.E. League was comprised of two (2) different competitions, including The Quiz, a knowledge and skills competition that aimed to enrich the IP learning experience of students; and The Debate, which aimed to uncover and openly discuss gray areas in the intellectual property laws of the country through a healthy exchange of ideas in a form of debate following a modified Oregon-Oxford format.

This year marks the first time Ateneo joined The Quiz competition, yet the team delivered an exceptional debut performance—securing the top spot in the preliminary round and placing 6th overall in the semi-final round. Representing Ateneo were Ms Raine Victoria Prieto (AB Political Science), Ms Leoraine Dela Cruz (AB Political Science), and Mr Jiro Reyen Romano (AB–MA Political Science), who demonstrated remarkable insight and mastery of intellectual property concepts.

The team’s preparation and success were made possible through the guidance and support of the Protection and Education Group (PEG) of the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office, composed of Ms Madielaine Fatallo, Ms Vanessa Malapit, and Ms Charity Maquiling. Their guidance equipped the students with the knowledge, discipline, and confidence to excel in a national-level competition.
Ateneo’s performance in the IP C.I.R.C.L.E. League 2025 underscores the University’s dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and responsible IP stewardship among its students—reflecting its broader mission to shape future-ready professionals in the rapidly evolving innovation landscape.
The University of the Philippines College of Law wins the IP CIRCLE League – The Quiz Category 2025.
