The Filipino Inventors Society (FIS), Inc., a 78-year old organization of Filipino inventor and recognized by law under Republic Act 7459, shall once again be spearheading the celebration of the National Inventors Week (NIW). This year’s event is in partnership with the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) , the Filipino Inventors Society Producers Cooperative (FISPC), Department of Science & Technology (DOST) and various inventors groups/associations.
NIW 2021 is titled: Outstanding Philippine Innovation Revolution (OPHIR) with the theme “Pitching Innovative Products to the Marketplace through Synergized Partnership”. With the support of the DOST–Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), this event will be held from November 15 to 19, 2021. Depending on government protocols on gatherings, this event will be held virtually and in-person at the Celebrity Sports Plaza, Delta Drive, Matandang Balara, Quezon City.
We invite you to participate as a contestant or spectate in the celebration of NIW 2021. This event would be an excellent opportunity to get exposure in national events and competitions, to meet and learn from seasoned inventors in their respective fields of interest, and to utilize one’s own ingenuity and imagination to conceptualize and create new inventions.
This 5-day event will include Webinars and Invention Contests in thirteen (13) categories. The specific categories for the invention contests are listed below:
a. Outstanding Invention (Gawad Teo Purugganan);
b. Outstanding Utility Model (Gawad Pastor-Reyes-Torres);
c. Outstanding Industrial Design (Gawad Dalmacio Buenaventura);
d. Pending Patent (Gawad Manuel G. Goyena);
e. Student Creative Research (Gawad Gregorio Y. Zara);
f. Book Salon Competition (Gawad Sergio Bayan);
g. Visual Arts Competition (Gawad Diosdado Banatao);
h. Innovation Song Writing Composition (Gawad Roberto Del Rosario);
i. Inventalino Contest (Gawad Jose P. Rizal);
j. Outstanding Natural Medicine (Gawad Patrocinio Valenzuela);
k. Outstanding Indigenous Products (Gawad Panday Pira);
l. Outstanding Business Incubation (Gawad Dr. Juan Salcedo Jr);
m. Outstanding Innovation Vlogger (Gawad Manuel P. Manahan);
A total of up to one million pesos (Php 1,000,000.00) in-cash & in-kind prizes is available so don’t miss this chance and enter in these thirteen categories! Please note that individuals interested in entering the invention contests would need to register individually.
