The recently concluded Web3 bootcamp and hackathon, held from April 27 to 29, 2023 was a resounding success, attracting a diverse range of participants from various industries and disciplines. The event was organized by The Ark of Dreams in collaboration with the Innoventures Group and the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO).

The Web3 bootcamp aimed to introduce participants to the concepts of Web3 and blockchain development by having them undergo a bootcamp, as well as provide hands-on experience in developing a Web3 product prototype through a hackathon. The hackathon provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their newly acquired Web3 skills and compete for prizes.

After three days of talks and intense coding and development, Team Da Vinci emerged as the winner of the competition. Their winning entry impressed the judges with utilizing its concept of P-pop merchandise for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through blockchain technology, demonstrating the power and potential of the Web3 space. As winners, Team Da Vinci received a cash prize of Php 100,000 and an incubation opportunity in the Ateneo Blue Nest Incubation Program, providing them the chance to further develop their prototype and potentially bring it to market. Teams B & C also received cash prizes (Php 50,000 and Php 20,000 respectively) which the organizers hope would help all of the teams jumpstart their ideas.

The success of the Web3 bootcamp and hackathon highlights the growing interest and demand for knowledge in the Web3 and blockchain space. With the support of organizations like The Ark of Dreams, Innoventures Group, and the AIPO, more individuals and businesses can access the resources and training they need to take advantage of the opportunities presented by Web3 technology.

The next iteration of the Web3 bootcamp and hackathon is already in the works, and is expected to attract an even larger and more diverse group of participants.
