AIPO Members Recognized in 46th University Service Awards

The Ateneo Intellectual Property Office congratulates two of its members: Engr Benjamin"Benjie" Mirasol & Ms Mariela Alcaparas, who were awarded during the 46th University Service Awards last 28 February 2024 by the Ateneo de Manila University in recognition for their years of service.



Sir Benjie is the incumbent and pioneer Head of the Commercialization and Business Incubation Group of AIPO, as well as the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Manager of the Ateneo Blue Nest, a DOST-supported TBI. Over the years, sir Benjie has been diligently leading his team in support of startups within the incubation program by providing strategic guidance, fostering connections with industry experts and investors, and cultivating an environment conducive to sustainable innovation and growth. Moreover, Sir Benjie also holds a distinguished faculty position at the John Gokongwei School of Management in Ateneo, where he passionately fosters the development of future Atenean entrepreneurs.


Mariela is the Program Development Officer of the Ideation Support Group of AIPO. She has been contributing to the generation of IP in the university through her invaluable support in bridging research partnerships, organizing ideation events like hackathons and workshops like design thinking, and proposal writing support. Her background in Environmental Science and talent in Patent Search and Drafting has helped propel AIPO to where it is right now.
